Trillions of the worlds wealth is in the hands of a few people. Now let us step back and consider if this is normal. Well it is the new norm, but it is not a good norm. I suppose someone might say that it is the rich and leaders who are advancing the world to its current level. They do own and/or run these businesses, enterprises or countries that provide the lower and middle classes with jobs, entertainment and technology.
But the amount of people that become rich, more twice that amount are being born into poverty. It should be noted worldwide there are only a few successful entrepreneurs. Research by Shikhar Ghosh from Harvard Business School has found that three quarter of all venture-backed startups fail. The few that succeed enjoy the best of life.
Many that fail try and try again at least until they gain enough success to become middle class citizens. But one thing life has taught me is that no matter how much you have and how powerful you are, you can lose it. This is why the people that end up staying rich are the cheap bastards that hoard money, diversify it and avoid any expense they can manage. Many who get rich are not so smart and become flash in the pans. They return right back to where they started, poor.
I am not going to suggest socialism as a solution either. Nobody wants to be restricted and most do not desire to be on the same level as everybody else. That is like everyone wearing grey. We all want to be different, money really does not matter until expenses come into play and we have to find the money to pay them. So we all strive to get enough to take care of the expenses of our desired lifestyle.
The masses try hard but never get the salary to sustain the living expenses that recur. This runaway wealth does help the world, it is as 2-Pac said one time, the more things change, the more they stay the same. The best solution to this problem would be the idea of a social enterprise that was pioneered some time ago. The idea of it if fully utilized by all organizations worldwide could cut the problems of the world in half.
Problem is mainly only large companies that participate in this ideal and they only do it when it serves them best. It is funny a entrepreneur like me is currently hoarding money, diversifying it and avoiding cost like the plague. But any smart person is doing that, it is not untypical I just do it even more than most people. I am trying to start a business alongside my family responsibilities so yes I have to make more sacrifices than the average man.
The system is what it is and money is a evil that can destroy the careless ones. Wealth is essentially any number of assets that money can buy. Wealth lasts longer and provides more security. Wealth is what I want. In remembering where I came from, and knowing how hard it is, I am going to try uplift people that are willing. Help those that cannot help themselves, because I could be in their position. When I am in the position to help why would I ignore them?
